More Tolerable than Sodom

 Salvation, a Privilege without Equal

 As believers, we have every reason to rejoice that we have been saved from “the wrath to come” (Luke 3:7; Matt. 3:7). We are among the luckiest among humanity.  On the day of God’s wrath revealed in judgment, mighty men will wail, “the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Rev. 6:17; cp Isa. 2:10-17).

On this day, while the unrepentant nations will be judged and destroyed, we will be rewarded (Rev. 11:18). But let’s take care not to ascribe glory to ourselves.  We should be thankful to God not because we were ‘smart’ enough to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ but because He qualified us to be “partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light” (Col. 1:12.
